広大な円山公園の一角にあり、緑に囲まれていて空気が気持ちいい。

Located in a corner of the vast Maruyama Park, it's surrounded by greenery and the air is refreshing.
Many groups come with family or friends, laying out sheets on the grass and relaxing.

２０１８年「ホッキョクグマ館」、２０１９年「ゾウ舎」、２０２４年「オランウータンとボルネオの森」、など新しい施設が増えています。
新しい施設はとても広々としており、より自然に近い状態になっています。
頭上を泳いでいくホッキョクグマを観察したり、砂浴びや水浴びをするゾウを観察したり、自由気ままな動物の姿を間近に見ることができます。
New facilities are being added, such as the Polar Bear House in 2018, the Elephant House in 2019, and the Orangutan House in 2024.
The new facilities are much more spacious and closer to nature.
You can observe polar bears swimming overhead and elephants taking sand baths and water baths, and get up close and personal with the free-spirited animals.

屋内からガラス越しに見れる施設も多いです。
ガラス張りの部屋には檻が無いので、視界がクリアで、とても動物が見やすい。
小さな子供にとっては、動物を間近に見ることができるので、とても楽しいかも。
Many facilities allow you to see the animals through glass from indoors.
There are no cages in glass rooms, so the view is clear and it's very easy to see the animals.
It can be great fun for small children, as they can see the animals up close.

広大な敷地とプールがあり、ホッキョクグマがのびのび暮らしています。
プールの中には水中トンネルがあります。
タイミングが良ければ水中トンネルで頭上をホッキョクグマが泳いでいき、大迫力の光景に遭遇できます。
The park has vast grounds and a pool, where polar bears live freely.
There is an underwater tunnel in the pool.
If you're lucky, you'll be able to see an impressive sight of polar bears swimming overhead through the underwater tunnel.

ホッキョクグマ館にはアザラシもいます。
水中トンネルから見上げると、アザラシが空を飛んでいるようです。
アザラシとホッキョクグマは場所が湧けられていますがお互いに見えるようになっているので、たまにホッキョクグマがアザラシを見つけて襲い掛かろうとすることがあります。
There are also seals in the Polar Bear House.
Looking up from the underwater tunnel, it looks like the seals are flying in the sky.
Although the seals and polar bears spawn in separate areas, they can see each other, so sometimes the polar bears will spot the seals and try to attack them.

ゾウ舎は２０１９年に完成した新しい施設です。
広々とした施設に４頭のゾウが暮らしています。
現在、北海道内でゾウがいるのは円山動物園だけですので、とても貴重な光景です。
The Elephant House is a new facility completed in 2019.
Four elephants live in the spacious facility.
Currently, Maruyama Zoo is the only zoo in Hokkaido that has elephants, so this is a very rare sight.

ゾウ舎は屋内施設もあり、時間によって屋外と屋内を行き来しています。
とても広くて暖かく、冬でもゾウ達が快適に暮らしています。
The elephant house also has indoor facilities, and the elephants move between outdoors and indoors depending on the time.
It is very spacious and warm, so the elephants can live comfortably even in winter.

There is a rest area on the second floor of the Giraffe House where you can find meerkats.
It's easy to forget about it, so be sure to go up to the second floor of the Giraffe House.

は虫類・両生類館はこのひとつだけでも動物施設として充分に成り立つくらいに充実しています。
約70種450点のは虫類・両生類を展示しており、珍しい爬虫類がたくさんいます。
The Reptile and Amphibian House is so well-equipped that it could stand alone as an animal facility.
There are about 450 reptiles and amphibians of 70 species on display, including many rare reptiles.

園内にはヒツジやアヒル・ガチョウが放し飼いになっていて、触れ合うことができます。
その他に、リスザルドーム、ドサンコの森、ビーバーの森、などの施設があります。
Within the park, sheep, ducks, and geese are allowed to roam freely, and you can interact with them.
Other facilities include the Squirrel Monkey Dome, Dosanko Forest, and Beaver Forest.
