施設は、ものすごく小さいです。
でも、ひとつひとつの水槽の見せ方が素晴らしい。
他の水族館にはないような面白い仕掛けや演出がたくさんあります。
小さい施設なのに、じーっと見てると次第にイメージが膨らみ、いつの間にか、広い大自然の中に入り込んでるような気分になります。
The facility is extremely small.
But the way each tank is displayed is wonderful.
There are many interesting gimmicks and displays that you won't find in other aquariums.
Even though it's a small facility, if you stare closely your imagination gradually expands, and before you know it you feel as if you've entered a vast, natural world.

夏は朝９時から夕方５時半まで営業してるので、訪問するスケジュールを立てやすいです。
道東方面にどこか行きたい目的地がある場合に、その行き帰りの途中などで気軽に寄れます。
３０分あれば充分に楽しめると思います。
ここを目的地として訪問して時間がたっぷりある人は、ゆっくり楽しみましょう。
魚が大好きでずっと眺めていたい人や、決定的な瞬間の写真を撮りたい人は、何時間あっても足りないと思います。
人それぞれの目的に応じて様々な楽しみ方ができます。
In the summer, it's open from 9am to 5:30pm, so it's easy to plan a visit.
If you have a destination you want to go to in eastern Hokkaido, you can easily stop by on your way there or back.
I think 30 minutes is enough to enjoy it.
If you're visiting here as your destination and have plenty of time, take your time and enjoy it.
If you love fish and want to watch them for hours, or if you want to take photos of the perfect moment, no matter how many hours you have, I don't think it will be enough.
There are various ways to enjoy it depending on each person's purpose.

水槽がカーブしていて頭上にせり出してます。
激しい水流の滝つぼを泳いでいるオショロコマを下から眺められます。
The aquarium is curved and juts out above your head.
You can see the Dolly Varden trout swimming in the basin at the bottom of the waterfall with strong currents from below.

水槽が屋外にあるので、季節によって見られる光景が変わります。
時間帯によって太陽の角度が変わって魚たちの輝きや影などの見え方も変わります。
一度だけではなく時間帯を変えて二度三度と訪問して見てみると面白いです。

It's interesting to visit at different times of the day rather than just once.

秋になると、サケやマスが泳ぎます。
太陽の光を浴びて輝いているサケはとても美しく格好良いです。
In autumn, salmon and trout swim around.
The salmon shining in the sunlight are very beautiful and cool.

真冬の１月中旬～２月中旬には、水面が凍ります。
完全に結氷しても水中の魚たちはたくましく生きてます。
ここだけでしか見られない素晴らしい光景です。
In the middle of winter, from mid-January to mid-February, the water surface freezes over.
Even when it's completely frozen over, the fish in the water continue to live robustly.
It's a wonderful sight that can only be seen here.

「幻の魚」と言われているイトウ。
初めて見た人は、その大きさに驚くでしょう。
また、時期によりますが水槽内にワカサギの群れが泳いでいる時もあります。
The sakhalin taimen is said to be a "phantom fish."
People who see it for the first time will be amazed at its size.
Also, depending on the season, schools of smelt can sometimes be seen swimming in the aquarium.

エントランスに大きな金魚の水槽があります。
ひらひらと泳ぐ可愛い金魚。
月によって水槽内のデザインが変わりますので、何度見ても楽しめます。
